Ladies at Lake Nantahala

I got together with a couple of friends for a weekend out at Lake Nantahala- it was so much fun! We went swimming in the lake and hiking and then it rained most of Saturday so we had to sit inside with wine and talk a lot.....before resting in the hot tub.....what a great time!

Pat came up the last day and we spent one night just the two of us. 

On our way home Pat and I stopped at the The Nantahala Outdoor Adventure Center. Such a cool place- I'd love to go back to go tubing and ziplining.

Meredith's Shower

It's good year for lots of lady time in my family. We all got together for Meredith's Shower a couple weekends ago. I can't wait to go to her wedding!

Summer Food

I came across this company, Mother Earth Produce, that delivers local fresh vegetables, eggs and other delights to our door. We only tried it twice this summer, since it's probably not the most cost effective way of getting produce, but having seasonal items that come to the porch and have to eaten has made Pat and I try some new dishes.

Can I tell you how great it is to marry somebody to whom you can hold up beets and say, "what do I with these?" It's like a kissable Google for the kitchen, that helps me make it or makes it himself.

Pot Rack

Thank you to Sarah & Jon Eels for the gift certificate to the kitchen store in Marietta. The purpose was to get us to Marietta and it worked!

We've been talking about a pot rack since we renovated the kitchen and finally we have one and so much more space too.

A new bookshelf

Why buy a new bookshelf, when you can just go to the basement and get one? This is one of the shelves that we took out of the kitchen. Pat cut off the feet and voila!

We came out on the back deck one afternoon to find this in our backyard. Didn't find a pot of gold yet, but what a miracle!
