Visit from the West

Obviously I've haven't been too good at keeping up with the blog. The main reason is, I didn't take any pictures when Pat's parents and my parents came to visit! I have no idea what I was thinking.

On Saturday night (July 11th) Pat made great provolone, bacon and barbeque sauce burgers for my mom and dad and his parents. We all got to eat outside and get to know each other a bit. The next morning we went to Jessica's for breakfast and JoAnn and Doc got to meet Grace & Zoe. Then my parents went home and Pat & I got to hang out with his parents for a couple more days.

It was a week of great food. On Monday we went to the Lobster Trap where Pat and Doc had beautiful lobsters. We had an Italian dinner from Nona Mia on my birthday with special mint chocolate cake for dessert- yum! Then Pat and his parents went for a day drive through Madison County and I met them for dinner in Marshall at Bacchus Bistro. Marshall is a charming town that hasn't quite hit the growth spurt that Asheville has, but is full of artists, so the spurt may come as it did for Asheville. Then on the last night, we grilled out steaks (my favorite!)

I'm so glad they made the trip east and got to see our home and that I got time to know both of them a bit better. Plus, we didn't have to say goodbye for long since Pat and I fly out Friday to Boise! Boise and Stanley, here we come! and vacation here we come! no work! whoo-hoo!

Thank You Mary!

Pat's Aunt Mary sent us a beautiful anniversary gift. Such a wonderful reminder of where we met and the gorgeous mountains there. The print is by Paul A. Lanquist and perfectly matches the living room walls.

Thank you Mary for keeping up with the blog and celebrating our year together!

Hope the 4th in Boise if full of family and fun.
